Mirror's Edge has a special place in the hearts of all the people who played it. Its stunning visuals, smooth animations, original gameplay, the badass protagonist Faith and the incredible soundtrack are the main things it stood out for. But even then, it didn't sell well, and got a lot of mixed reviews; some love it, and some others are just bad at it.
It had many flaws however. A weak story, problematic combat, short duration and some horrific cutscenes were there to keep it from being a perfect game. And yet, because it is, to this day, one of the most unique games there are, its problems don't ruin the experience.
The fact that DICE is rebooting the franchise makes me more than happy. It is undoubtedly one of my favourite games of all time, and I have played a lot of games. The trailer shown on E3 2015, no kidding, made me tear up, not just because it was beautiful and the music was once again amazing, but also because it was like seeing a good friend I hadn't seen in years. It looks like it's going to be a very well made game, and the fact that DICE took their time developing it is very comforting. Having a game a little late but complete is better than getting a broken game early. I'm sure they've learnt from their mistakes and will provide us with a great product.
I can't wait to get my hands on it and be able to discuss it with the rest of the Mirror's Edge community!
